It might seem common to hear about a rural community and think about a few local farmers or imagine the town having one large manufacturing business that employs a lot of residents but in Greene County, we are far from that image! Here, we are so incredibly fortunate to have a huge manufacturing and agricultural backbone that has been created within our county over the years. We have, not one, but six nationally recognized manufacturing companies, three large agriculture companies, and hundreds of local farmers who are all allowing local roots to have a global impact!

Our six nationally recognized manufacturing companies employ hundreds of local residents, ship products all over the world, and almost all of them began as Greene County start-up businesses that have grown into some of the most well-known manufacturing companies in the world!

  • American Athletic Inc. /Spalding

    American Athletic, Inc. (“AAI”) is the manufacturer of world-class athletic equipment specializing in gymnastic and cheer products and is operated in Jefferson, IA. Russell Brands, LLC acquired AAI® and consolidated its Spalding® brand equipment and products to be housed under one roof, bringing together AAI/Spalding.

  • Bauer Built MFG.

    Bauer Built Manufacturing is setting the standard as a large scale manufacturing facility with capabilities including CNC, plate/tube laser, saw, weld, powder/liquid paint, and assembly. Located in Paton, IA, they have been family owned since 1982.

  • B&D Manufacturing

    B&D Manufacturing is bringing geothermal innovation to the forefront of green energy from Scranton, IA. At B&D their goal is to utilize non-pressurized products, while meeting all geothermal product needs. B&D is the home manufacturer of non-pressurized geothermal flow centers.

  • John Deere

    John Deere in Paton, IA provides manufacturing services for planters in the agriculture industry. John Deere conducts business essential to life. Jefferson is a bountiful agriculture community that encompasses everyone from local farmers to large agriculture companies who work together to make a positive impact on the world.
