Get ready for a hauntingly good time in Jefferson! There’s no shortage of frightful fun with exciting events lined up throughout the next week. Here’s a rundown of all the spook-tacular happenings:

 

Spook the Loop

Date: October 24

Time: 4:30-6:00 PM (plus full timeline below!)

Location: Around the downtown square

Join us for "Spook the Loop" on October 24th! Local businesses will be lining the downtown square to hand out candy and treats, creating a festive atmosphere for all. Bring your family and friends to enjoy a fun-filled evening of trick-or-treating in the heart of our community!

The full evening lineup:

- 3:45-5:00 PM – Halloween Party at Greene County Community Center (hosted by Jefferson Parks and Recreation)
Games and prizes for kids.

- 4:30-6:00 PM – “Spook the Loop” (formerly called "Trick-or-Treat Around the Square)
Local businesses on the downtown square handing out candy and treats.

- 5:00-6:30 PM – Halloween Fun at Jefferson Public Library
More Halloween activities and surprises!

- 6:30-7:30 PM - Combined Middle School and High School Band Concert at the High School

This is a collaborative event with Jefferson Matters, businesses from all around Jefferson, Greene County Community Center, Jefferson Public Library, and the Greene County High School and Middle School.

 

Ghouls Night Out

Date: October 25

Time: Starts at 5:30 PM

Location: Starts at Warm Wishes

Gather your ghoulish pals for a special evening on October 25th! Experience a unique “Ghouls Night Out” with Warm Wishes, Fudge’s, and the Centennial. The night includes:

  • Appetizers and an activity at Warm Wishes

  • Plant workshop at Fudge’s

  • Dinner at the Centennial

  • Dessert at the top of the Bell Tower

This event is so popular that it's already full! Be sure to keep an eye out for future retail shop collaboration events, as there's always something exciting in the works. In the meantime, don't miss out on the other fun Halloween happenings around town!

 

Happy Haunting at the Museum

Date: October 27

Time: Starts at 2:00 PM

Location: Museum - 219 E. Lincoln Way

The Greene County Historical Museum invites to you their “Happy Haunting at the Museum”. There will be “ghosts” of famous Greene Countians, fiddle and piano music (Jennifer Powers and Rick Morain), jokes, and a general good time. Albert and Mahlon Head, Doreen Wilber, and George Gallup (otherwise known as Clancy Clawson, Kristin Lang, Don and Jean Van Gilder, and Darren Jackson) will all make appearances, and we’ll see the lighter side of history. This is our second Happy Haunting, and it’s back by popular demand, so be sure to stop in and join in the fun. As always, refreshments will be served.

 

Pumpkin Floral Design Class

Date: October 28

Time: 2:00-2:45 PM and 3:00-3:45 PM

Location: Greene County Community Center

Youth get to design a real pumpkin full of fresh flowers. They can take them home to share with their family or we will deliver (at no cost) to their favorite local teacher. A small, special note will be included! 2 sessions, please choose which session you would like to attend.

Haunted House

Date: October 31

Time: 5:30-7:30 PM

Location: Basement of Sierra Theatre - 212 E. State Street

Dare to enter the Haunted House located in the basement of the Sierra Theatre on October 31st. Prepare for frights and fun as you navigate through this spooky setting!

 

Trunk or Treat

Date: October 31

Time: 5:00-7:00 PM

Location: Jefferson Gospel Open Bible Church - 302 S. Grimmell Road

The Jefferson Gospel Open Bible invites you to their Trunk of Treat on Halloween. Enjoy free treats, games, music, a hayride, and even a chance to see a fire truck and patrol car! Food trucks will also be available at the event.

 

Trick or Treat with Extended Care

Date: October 31

Time: 4:30-5:30 PM

Location: Greene County Medical Center - Main lobby

Children can enjoy a special Trick or Treat event at the main lobby of the hospital on October 31st. It’s a great opportunity to gather goodies while spreading joy in our community!

Residential Trick or Treating

Date: October 31

Time: 5:00-7:00 PM

Lastly, don’t forget to mark your calendars for Residential Trick or Treating on October 31st from 5-7 PM. Get ready to collect candy from your favorite local homes as you stroll through the neighborhood.

 

Bell Tower Fall Views: Daily Until End of October

Date: Daily until end of October

Time: 10 AM - 4 PM

While you're in the Halloween spirit, don’t miss the chance to go up the Mahanay Memorial Bell Tower to catch stunning views of Jefferson's fall foliage! Until the end of October, enjoy a discounted rate of just $4 per trip up to the observation deck, and remember, children under 18 are free. The Bell Tower is open daily, and it’s the perfect spot to take in the season’s vibrant colors.
