Let’s Welcome Another, Jefferson Wants You- Remote Worker Incentive Fund Recipient

Another remote worker who recently moved back to Greene County after 25 years has been awarded a Jefferson Wants You Incentive grant for a one-year membership at Gravitate Coworking.

Matthew Fiedler of rural Scranton is co-founder of re:3D Inc, which is a NASA spin-off focused on making new additive manufacturing technology available to people in the developing world.

His company currently has customers and 3D printing machines in 53 countries worldwide. Matthew has relocated back to the family farm in Scranton and plans to manage the day-to-day functions of his company remotely.

He shared that Gravitate Coworking offered a great option with high-speed internet, meeting rooms, and an environment conducive to getting work done. Matthew also noted that as a small business owner, he welcomes the opportunity to share his experience in building and growing a technology, hardware, and manufacturing business with other entrepreneurs and the community at large.

A one-year membership at Gravitate Coworking has a value of $1,200 for the Floating Membership. Gravitate opened in 2021 and is located at 200 E State St.

The Floating Membership includes a 24/7 keycard access, a seat available every day and unlimited room bookings for the conference room space. High-speed fiber internet, private phone booth, coffee, unlimited printing and copying are part of the benefits of the membership. Dedicated desks and private office suites are also available at Jefferson’s Gravitate Coworking location. Matt Wetrich is the local contact for the Gravitate Coworking space and can answer specific questions about this location in downtown Jefferson.

The Jefferson Wants You Incentive Fund is a project of the Rural Return project through Jefferson Matters: A Main Street & Chamber Community.  This project is funded through contributions of Jefferson Telecom, Home State Bank, Heartland Bank, Peoples Bank, and Alliant Energy.  The Selection Committee was also awarded a Grow Greene County Grant in early April.

This fund is open to both current and new remote workers in Greene County who are eligible to apply for the Jefferson Wants You Incentive Fund if they would plan to use the space at least 3 times a week. The selection committee has set a goal of awarding eight more of these memberships this year. Applications are available under the “Move Here, Remote Worker Incentive” tab located on this website. Questions can be directed to Matt Wetrich, Executive Director at her office at The Welcome Center.  Personal interviews are conducted by the Selection Committee.

Applications are also available for new businesses filling a gap in Jefferson for start-up funds of up to $5,000. More details can also be found under the “Move Here, Entrepreneurial Opportunities” tab.
