A new business in Jefferson has been awarded $3,500 for their new start-up. The Studio is a hair salon owned and operated by Kelsie Wearmouth along with her partner Chuck Foster. Kelsie managed a salon in Ames and has worked as a cosmetology educator. Services that will be offered at The Studio will be haircuts, highlighting, root color, balayage, bright colors, curly haircuts, men’s cuts, hair extensions, kids cuts, up-dos, perms and facial waxing.

The Studio located at 110 W Lincoln Way is owned by Kelsie Wearmouth along with her partner Chuck Foster.

The Studio is located at 110 W Lincoln Way which was the most recent Jefferson Matters: Main Street office and is owned by Nikki Uebel. Many improvements have been made to the exterior of the building such as painting the tile roof and windows. The interior has fresh paint with beautiful antique furniture refurbished for the salon’s use. Kelsie uses her Facebook page to reach her clients and shared that 50% of her clients from Ames will continue to use her services at the new Jefferson location.

Kelsie stated, “It is very important to be connected to other businesses in town so they can support one another. Helping to bring people to Jefferson is everyone’s goal, so knowing the other business owners is crucial for that.”
